Summary of Rental Agreement Terms
Drivers
Must be 25 years and over
Must hold a full license to drive in New Zealand, or an equivalent overseas license valid for New Zealand.
Must have held a driving license for at least 3 years
Classic Rides reserve the right to postpone or refuse hire if we have any reason to believe a person may be unfit to drive safely
Driving
Only available for hire in the North Island
No driving on unsealed roads, beaches, creeks, fords or river beds
Cannot be used for a rally, speed test, race or contest
Cannot be used to transport people or goods for reward
Cannot transport animals including pets
No smoking inside vehicles
Spillage within the vehicle (including food and drink) may incur extra fees for cleaning
Hiring
To book a car, a $50 deposit is required to secure the vehicle.
Prior to each hire, full payment will be made, using credit or debit card.
In addition, a bond of $1000 will be held (pre-authorised on credit cards) and refunded at the end of the hire if no damage or traffic infringements have occurred.
Vehicles will be returned to the Classic Rides depot at the agreed time or additional charges will be incurred. Vehicles may be returned to an agreed alternative location, however there may be extra charges for this facility.
Included in Hire Fees
Fixed number of kilometres, depending on vehicle and duration of hire (Extra distance charged on per kilometre basis)
Fuel
Comprehensive insurance, noting an excess of $1000 including GST applies, and is covered by the security bond
The insurance excess can be reduced to $500 including GST by paying a daily fee of $50
